Free 2 day outdoor learning courses in surrey

The last 7 years Surrey County Council have provided; we have successfully provided free 2 day outdoor learning courses in Surrey; reaching out to adults with complex needs e.g. Surrey Choices). The success of this; our contract has increased and we are looking to attract groups of unemployed or disadvantaged adults.

Surrey County Council fully funded 2 day courses will provide opportunities; to spend some more quality time together and most important have a laugh to it can be delivered one day after another or a week apart or even a month apart ; to taking part in 4 activities i.e. archery, team task; woodland skills and all fully inclusive.

(is outside for most of the day so warm clothing may need to be worn)

These courses run from 10.00-16.00 at our High Ashurst site near Box Hill RH5 6DQ our Henley Fort site near Guildford GU2 4RH or our Young Mariners site near Kingston TW10 7RX

“Supporting other members of our team and planning to achieve a goal” is for adults 19+ used both by Surrey Choices and The Grange employability schemes.

There are educational outcomes

  1. To demonstrate how to support each other within a team.
  2. The demonstrate how to set goals and targets
  3. To understand different learning styles
  4. To help participants evaluate their own goals and targets
  5. To demonstrate how feedback can improve a team’s performance

These outdoor courses use different forms of outdoor learning over the course of four half day sessions ( 2 sessions per day)

  • Archery
  • Woodland skills
  • Problem solving e.g. practical outdoor tasks to develop cooperation & empathy
  • Learning, empathy and fun nothing macho

A perfect Covid safe environment: participants will become NESCOT students as it is funded by NESCOT for the 2 days.

Do not worry hot refreshments are provided in our indoor spaces.

Participants need to be UK nationals to be eligible for the funding scheme.
